After breakfast, check-out from your hotel and proceed to Akkalkot by bus or taxi. It is about 70 km from Pandharpur and takes about 2 hours to reach.
Akkalkot is a holy place of Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj, a 19th century saint who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. His samadhi (tomb) is located at the Nirgun Math, which is also known as the Shri Swami Samarth Samadhi Math5. This is the main attraction of Akkalkot and thousands of devotees visit this place every year.
Visit the Nirgun Math and have a darshan of the Nirguna Padukas (a pair of sandals) of Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj. You can also see the holy tree of Ashwattha, where he used to sit and bless his devotees. The math is open from 3 am to 8:30 pm.
You can also visit other places in Akkalkot, such as the Shri Gopalkrishna Temple, the Shri Shamivighnesh Ganesh Temple, and the Shri Kalleshwar Temple. These temples are dedicated to various forms of Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Shiva respectively.
Have lunch at a local restaurant and then continue your journey to Gangapur by bus or taxi. It is about 40 km from Akkalkot and takes about an hour to reach.
Gangapur is another important pilgrimage for followers of Lord Dattatreya. It is associated with Shri Narasimha Saraswati Swamy, the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. He lived in Gangapur for 24 years and performed many miracles here.
Check-in at a hotel or an ashram near the Shri Dattatreya Temple, which is also known as the Nirgun Math. This temple houses the Nirguna Padukas of Shri Narasimha Saraswati Swamy and a statue of Lord Dattatreya.
In the evening, visit the temple and have a darshan of the deities. You can also participate in the evening aarti and pallaki seva (palanquin service) that are held daily at the temple premises. The temple is open from 3 am to 8:30 pm.
You can also visit the Sangam (confluence) of Bhima and Amarja rivers, which is about 2 km from the temple. This place is considered very sacred and it is believed that taking a bath here washes away all sins and fulfills all wishes. There are also many other holy places near the Sangam, such as the Aswatha Tree, the Narasimha Teertha, the Papavinasini Teertha, the Varanasi Teertha, etc.
Have dinner at a nearby restaurant or ashram and return to your hotel or ashram for an overnight stay.
