Start your day with a visit to the Shri Mahalaxmi Temple, one of the most famous temples of Kolhapur and a significant landmark of Indian history. The temple is dedicated to Mahalakshmi, the central deity of Devi Mahatmyam, and is known for its intricate carvings and architectural beauty. You can also witness the daily rituals and ceremonies performed by the priests and devotees. The temple is open from 5 AM to 10 PM, and the entry is free.

Next, head to the Rankala Lake, a picturesque lake located in the heart of the city, surrounded by Chaupati and other gardens. The lake was formed by an earthquake that caused water to accumulate from an underground source in a former stone quarry. You can enjoy boating, horse riding, or just relax in the serene surroundings. The lake also features a Hindu temple with a Nandi, and the majestic Shalini Palace on its banks. The lake is open from 6 AM to 8 PM, and the entry is free.

After enjoying the lake view, proceed to the Near Palace, also known as the New Palace or Chhatrapati Shahu Museum.
