Day 1 :

Pune - Bhimashankar - Trimbakeshwar

You will start your journey from Pune early in the morning and drive to Bhimashankar, which is about 110 km away. You will reach Bhimashankar by 9 am and visit the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the most sacred shrines of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated in the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to the rare Malabar giant squirrel and many other species of flora and fauna. You can also enjoy the scenic views of the Sahyadri hills and the Bhima river from the temple premises
After darshan and prasad at the temple, you will drive to Trimbakeshwar, which is about 180 km away. You will reach Trimbakeshwar by 2 pm and check-in at your hotel. You can have lunch at a nearby restaurant and relax for some time.
In the evening, you will visit the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, another holy abode of Lord Shiva. The temple is located at the source of the Godavari river, which is considered as one of the seven sacred rivers of India. The temple has a unique three-faced linga representing Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. You can also see the Nandi bull, the vehicle of Shiva, in front of the temple

Day 2 :

Trimbakeshwar - Grishneshwar - Ellora

You will wake up early in the morning and visit the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple again for the morning aarti. You will then have breakfast at your hotel and check-out by 9 am.
You will drive to Grishneshwar, which is about 100 km away. You will reach Grishneshwar by 11 am and visit the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, the last of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is built in a red stone Hemadpanthi style of architecture and has exquisite carvings and sculptures of various Hindu deities. The temple is also associated with a legend of a devout woman named Kusuma who pleased Lord Shiva with her devotion and brought her dead son back to life

After darshan and prasad at the temple, you will drive to Ellora, which is about 2 km away. You will reach Ellora by 12 pm and visit the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases the rock-cut art and architecture of ancient India. The Ellora Caves consist of 34 caves belonging to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism that were excavated between the 6th and 12th centuries CE. The caves are famous for their stunning sculptures, paintings and architectural marvels that reflect the harmony and tolerance among different faiths in India.

Among the Ellora Caves, you will visit Cave 16, which is also known as the Kailasa Temple, the largest monolithic rock structure in the world. The Kailasa Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is carved out of a single rock cliff in a magnificent Nagara style of architecture. The temple has a pyramidal shikhara (spire), a huge courtyard, a pillared hall, a sanctum sanctorum and several subsidiary shrines. The temple walls are adorned with elaborate carvings depicting scenes from Hindu mythology, such as Ravana lifting Mount Kailasa, Shiva’s wedding with Parvati, Shiva’s victory over Andhaka and many more. The temple is also surrounded by life-size sculptures of elephants, lions, bulls and other animals that add to its grandeur

You will spend about two hours exploring the Ellora Caves and admiring their beauty and craftsmanship. You will then have lunch at a nearby restaurant and check-in at your hotel near Grishneshwar Temple. You can relax for some time or visit some other nearby attractions if you wish.

Day 3 :

Grishneshwar - Ellora - Pune

You will wake up early in the morning and visit the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple again for the morning aarti. You will then have breakfast at your hotel and check-out by 9 am.

You will drive to Ellora again, which is about 2 km away. You will visit some other caves of the Ellora Caves that you might have missed on the previous day. You can also see the Jain caves (caves 30-34) that are known for their delicate and intricate carvings of Jain Tirthankaras and deities. You can also see the Buddhist caves (caves 1-12) that depict the life and teachings of Buddha and his disciples

You will spend about an hour at the Ellora Caves and then drive back to Pune, which is about 250 km away. You will reach Pune by 4 pm and end your tour with sweet memories of the three Jyotirlingas and the Ellora Caves.
