Itinerary

Your tour will begin from Haridwar, the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra and one of the seven holy cities in India. Haridwar is situated on the banks of the Ganges River and is famous for its temples, ghats, and the evening Ganga Aarti, a ritual of offering lamps to the river goddess. You will be welcomed by our executive at the Haridwar Station and then drive to Sitapur, a small town near Kedarnath. You will check in at the hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Sonprayag, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. Kedarnath is a town and a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, or self-manifested lingas, in India. It is also one of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites and is located at an altitude of 3584 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas. You can choose to trek on foot or on a pony or a doli, a palanquin carried by porters.

The trek is about 16 kilometers long and takes about 5 to 6 hours to complete. You will pass through lush green valleys, waterfalls, and snow-clad peaks along the way. You will also cross Gaurikund, a hot spring where Goddess Parvati is believed to have performed penance to win Lord Shiva’s heart. You will reach Kedarnath by the evening and check in at the hotel. Later, you will visit the Kedarnath Temple, a magnificent stone structure built by the Pandavas in the 8th century CE.
The temple has a conical linga, a statue of Nandi, the bull mount of Lord Shiva, and carvings of various deities and scenes from Hindu mythology. You will also witness the evening aarti, a ritual of offering prayers and lamps to the deity. You will then return to the hotel and have a cozy overnight stay.

In the morning, you will have another chance to visit the Kedarnath Temple and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. You can also explore the nearby attractions such as the Bhairavnath Temple, dedicated to a fierce form of Lord Shiva, the Chorabari Lake, also known as Gandhi Tal, a glacial lake where some of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed, and the Rudra Meditation Cave, an underground stone cave where Prime Minister Narendra Modi meditated in 2019. After darshan, you will trek back to Sonprayag and then drive to Sitapur. You can also opt for a helicopter ride from Kedarnath to Sitapur, subject to availability and weather conditions. You will check in at the hotel and relax for the night.

After breakfast, you will drive to Badrinath, another town and temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, one of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites and one of the 108 Divya Desams, or holy abodes of Lord Vishnu, in India.

Badrinath is situated at an altitude of 3133 meters on the banks of the Alaknanda River and is surrounded by the majestic Nanda Devi and Neelkanth peaks. You will reach Badrinath by the afternoon and check in at the hotel. After some rest, you will have a bath in the Tapt Kund, a hot spring with medicinal properties, and then have the darshan of Badrivishal, the black stone idol of Lord Vishnu in a meditative pose. You will also see the Brahamakamal, a rare flower that is used for the Pinddan Shraddh, a ritual of offering food to the ancestors, or Pitrus.

You will also visit some other interesting sightseeing spots near Badrinath, such as Mana, the last Indian village on the Indo-China border, Vyas Gufa, the cave where Sage Vyas composed the Mahabharata, Maatamoorti, the temple of Goddess Parvati, the mother of Lord Badrinath, Charanpaduka, the rock with the footprints of Lord Vishnu, Bhimkund, the pool where Bhima, one of the Pandavas, is said to have quenched his thirst, and the Mukh of the Saraswati River, the origin of the Saraswati River, which later disappears underground. You will then return to the hotel and have a peaceful overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive back to Rishikesh, a spiritual town on the bank of the Ganges and the Yoga Capital of the World. On the way, you will stop at Joshimath and Auli for some sightseeing. Joshimath is a town and a math, or a monastery, established by Adi Shankaracharya, a revered Hindu saint and philosopher, in the 8th century CE. It is also the winter seat of Lord Badrinath, as the idol is shifted from Badrinath to Joshimath during the winter months.
You will visit the temples of Narsingh, the half-man half-lion incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and Durga, the goddess of power, in Joshimath. You will also learn about the legend of the left arm of the Narsingh idol, which is said to be shrinking with time, and the prophecy that when the arm completely withers, Badrinath valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer their residence to the neighboring Niti Valley at Bhavishya Badri, another temple of Lord Vishnu. Joshimath is also connected by a cable car to Auli, a ski resort and a hill station with panoramic views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks.

You will enjoy the scenic ride and the refreshing atmosphere of Auli. You will then resume your drive to Rishikesh and reach by the evening. You will check in at the hotel and have a comfortable overnight stay.

After morning breakfast, you will explore the attractions of Rishikesh, a place of sages and a hub of yoga and meditation. Rishikesh is said to be the place where Lord Vishnu appeared as Hrishikesh to Raibhya Rishi, a sage who performed penance here. You will visit the temples and ashrams of Rishikesh, such as the Laxman Jhula, a suspension bridge across the Ganges named after Laxman, the brother of Lord Rama, who is believed to have crossed the river here, the Ram Jhula, another suspension bridge across the Ganges named after Lord Rama, the Triveni Ghat, a confluence of three holy rivers, the Ganges, the Yamuna, and the Saraswati, where pilgrims take a dip and attend the evening Ganga Aarti, the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, one of the largest and oldest ashrams in Rishikesh, where you can join the yoga and meditation classes, the Beatles Ashram, where the famous English rock band stayed and composed some of their songs in 1968, and the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, where he is said to have consumed the poison that emerged from the churning of the ocean. You will also have the option to indulge in some adventure activities such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and zip-lining, subject to availability and weather conditions.
